How to install your eSIM

The universal step-by-step guide to installing your eSIM by QR code, with tips that apply to any device.

Installing your eSIM adds the plan to your phone. You can do this any time after purchase — ideally before you travel, while you still have a reliable internet connection.

Install once

An eSIM QR code can usually be installed only one time. Do not delete the eSIM unless you are sure you want to remove it, as you may not be able to reinstall the same code.

Before you start

A stable Wi-Fi or mobile data connection.
Your QR code (in your confirmation email or account).
A compatible, unlocked device.

Install by QR code

Open your device Settings and go to the mobile / cellular section.

Choose Add eSIM or Add data plan.

Select Use QR code and point the camera at the QR code.

Follow the prompts to finish adding the plan. Label it something memorable like "Travel".

Install manually (no QR code)

If you cannot scan the code, choose Enter details manually and copy the SM-DP+ address and activation code from your account into the matching fields.

Tip

Installing the eSIM does not start using data. You control when it activates by turning the line on and enabling data roaming. See Activate after landing.
